The Proposal

Even though Bullock is too likeable to play a credible bitch, this is a very enjoyable movie with endearing and funny moments in the right places.

Death Defying Acts

Wonderful chemistry between Zeta-Jones and Pearce in this cat and mouse game. Delightful play from Saoirse Ronan.

27 Dresses

Romcoms hardly ever hold surprises, since they adhere to a strict recipe. But this romcom is an exception, because the writing and direction is absolutely awful. Savage Grace

Despite the incoherent screenplay the powerful acting of mainly Moore leaves one with a deeply disturbed feeling throughout the movie. If you feel you come from a deranged family, this movie will cheer you right up.

The Nanny Diaries

Good chemistry between Linney and Johansson. Other than that this is a hollow story.

Into the Wild

A little incoherent and one hour too long, this story is more impressive as a true story than as a movie. Still, the heart of lovers of the outdoors will race when seeing the beautiful imagery. Movie picks up during final 20 minutes.

Slumdog Millionaire

Impressive movie, especially the inside look into Indian life. Story stays interesting, beautiful filming, infectious music. But I’m not as impressed as the voting members for the Oscars apparently were. It’s good, but not brilliant.
