My Sassy Girl

A bold and promising storyline slips and falls flat on its face in a slobbery puddle of false sentiment, never to get back up on its feet. End of story.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Teenage adoration meets paranoia. This long-winded story doesn’t get interesting until the last half hour. Very good musical score.

No Country for Old Men

Weird, detached, philosophical, stays interesting every second.

Once

Endearing. “Falling slowly” definite goosebump material.

Rachel Getting Married

Touching story, with the troubles in a dysfunctional family slowly unfolding. And that’s where the problem with this movie lies: it’s very long-winded. Hathaway proves herself to be capable of much more than girly movies.

Le Divorce

Top cast, intruiging view into the habits of the French vs Americans, but the story fails.

Good Bye, Lenin

Reflective and interesting portrait of an era. Endearing. Wonderful play, beautiful musical score.

Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing

Inspirational. These chicks have an impressive set of balls.

Becoming Jane

The life and times of Jane Austen never tire, but this movie adaptation does a little.

Zomerhitte

Het toch al magere Wolkers verhaal wordt overtroefd door exceptioneel slecht acteerwerk. Een typisch geval van jammer.
